Here is an epic journey from the airline that flies you to the most countries on the planet.

The year is 1969. Planet Earth is waiting for history to be made. The most epic human achievement is about to happen with the first step on the Moon.

In 2020, now, a lot of things have changed. Yet, billions of people have not traveled internationally. This is something that goes completely against that epic space odyssey. So, as an airline, this got us thinking, and inspired us to create our latest global campaign.
With “Step on Earth,” Turkish Airlines flew three members of the public who’d never traveled abroad, to "step on" different, beautiful destinations for the first time. Three people, the same number of astronauts as on the Apollo 11 mission. 
Russ Holmes, Mariha Pedelton and Karlos Kemps went on an epic journey of discovery on a planet that Turkish Airlines knows very well as the airline that flies to the most countries in the world. As the Turkish Airlines family, we thrive on the unique discoveries we deliver to our passengers. We believe that there is something from our three protagonists in all of us -our three protagonists who decided to take a step forward and go beyond the borders of their own countries.

Telling the story of this three protagonists, the campaign “Step on Earth” will be aired in 20 countries around the world and will officially premier at one of the most important sports events of the year: Super Bowl LIV. This is our brand’s fifth consecutive big game ad to debut at the Super Bowl, one of the most watched sports events in the world, alongside a lineup of some of the world’s most recognizable brands. “Step on Earth” follows a number of high-profile commercials that Turkish Airlines has aired at Super Bowls. 
In 2016, Turkish Airlines debuted the “Batman v Superman” campaign; in 2017, “Widen Your World,” where Morgan Freeman invited us to explore the company’s wide route network; in 2018, the “Five Senses” campaign starring Dr. Oz who experienced the wonders of the world through the five senses; and in 2019, the “Journey” movie about Istanbul which was directed by Ridley Scott. Although it wasn’t released at the Super Bowl, Turkish Airlines’ "Kobe vs. Messi: The Selfie Shootout" with Lionel Messi and Kobe Bryant was selected as the best commercial film of the last decade by YouTube.

It’s time to bring a little bit of the spirit of 1969 into 2020. To focus our eyes on our beautiful planet called Earth at a moment when, apparently, everyone is looking towards space.
