The global carrier Turkish Airlines has began operating to two cities in Mexico renowned for tourism and commerce: Mexico City and Cancun.

Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other, has expanded its flight network to include the capital of Mexico, Mexico City, the second largest city in Latin America, and the tourism center of Central America, Cancun.

Mexico City, a location that dates back to 2000 BC, comes to the fore in tourism with more than 150 museums, the ancient city of Teotihuacan, and the pyramids, as well as beautiful squares and a colorful lifestyle. The city is also the trade and finance center of the region.

Cancun, famous for its long stretches of beaches, offers swimming, diving, and leisure activities, and hosts the Cancun Underwater Museum of Art that attracts approximately 4 million tourists a year.

Cancun is close to Chichen Itza and the ancient city of Tulum, one of the popular sites with ancient civilization enthusiasts with its well-protected Mayan ruins of Ek Balam. Cancun also offers nature lovers a great deal of sightseeing with its natural wonders like the Las Coloradas pink lakes, the Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserve covered with mangrove forests, and the natural pool of Cenote Ik Kil .

Both cities are ideal locations to experience the best of Mexican cuisine, famous for its spices and sauces. Here you can taste Mexican flavors including quesadillas, tacos, tortillas, and Mexican beans.

Turkish Airlines will operate round-trip flights to Mexico City and Cancun three times a week. As part of the opening of these two important routes a press conference was held at Mexico City International Airport. M. İlker Aycı, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, spoke at the conference and said, “As part of our growth strategy we are continuing to widen the boundaries of our flight network. After adding flights to Bali, we are now flying to these two prominent cities; we are happy to be connecting these two important cities on the South American continent to the 125 countries on our flight network. Now, our passengers can enjoy Turkish Airlines comfort when they fly to Mexico City and Cancun. We believe that these new flights will strengthen the relationship between Turkey and Mexico on every level.”
