Trade relations that began in 1991 between Turkish Airlines and Kuwait Airways and expanded in May 2019 with the resigning of the “Special Prorate Agreement” were strengthened even further with this new step. As a part of this codesharing agreement signed by both airlines, codesharing will be possible on flights operating between Kuwait, Istanbul and Sabiha Gökçen Airports.

The codesharing agreement signed by Turkish Airlines General Manager Bilal Ekşi and Chairman of Kuwait Airways Yousef Al-Jassem Al-Saqer in the Turkish Airlines General Headquarters Building aims to strengthen the existing partnership and carry this to a new dimension.

Both of the airlines are working to incorporate the codeshare flights into their “Frequent Flyer Programs” in order for passengers to benefit from their mileage. Representatives of the two airlines said they are considering expanding the codesharing and special prorate agreements even further in the future.
