What happened in Çanakkale during World War I is not just the story of the great Turkish victory against the invading forces. This was a national resurrection and the harbinger of the Republic of Turkey. It was in Çanakkale that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk first appeared on the scene of history. We compiled a few photographs taken from the same angle both from the time of war on the Gallipoli Peninsula and from the present to commemorate the 104th anniversary of the Victory of Çanakkale and the soldiers who sacrificed their lives.
