Turkish Airlines’ new cabin uniforms received the “Best New Uniform 2018” at TheDesignAir Awards.
Having collected many awards with its passenger-oriented and innovative service approach embedded in Turkish hospitality, Turkish Airlines received the “Best New Uniform 2018” for its new cabin uniforms at TheDesignAir Awards. Jonny Clark, the founder of thedesignair.net, commented on the airline’s success: “Turkish Airlines might have grand ambitions for 2019 with a new passenger experience in its hub, a new Business Class product, and new aircrafts joining the fleet, but the first branded element to this new era for the carrier is the uniform. It has set the scene and showcases the airline's approach to their new brand image. Clean lines, elegant silhouettes and a bold fabric pattern will help the airline stand out both onboard and in airport."
Turkish Airlines prepared the new cabin uniforms, which it dedicated to its 85th anniversary and the opening of its new hub Istanbul Airport, with a detailed and multidirectional collaboration with related departments and famous Milanese fashion designer Ettore Bilotta over the course of two years. During the process, which included a meticulous examination including choice of fabric and testing the uniforms on board, the sample uniforms were evaluated by groups that represent the airline’s passenger profile in Turkey and Europe.
Designed with the concept of “Flow” and as a result of a long study, the elegant uniform comes in red and anthracite. After the launch, the uniform was expansively covered in both the national and the international press.
Put into use in early October, the new uniform received great praise from passengers, fashion authorities, and the aviation industry. It further cemented its success with this award.
