Turkish Airlines collaborated with HAVELSAN for the supply of simulators required for pilot training.

Turkish Airlines signed a new agreement with HAVELSAN, which previously manufactured the first local-made simulators used in pilot training for Boeing 737NG, and continues its support to strengthen the local and national manufacture approach.
The signature ceremony was attended by Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee M. İlker Aycı, HAVELSAN Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, Turkish Airlines Deputy Chairman and CEO Bilal Ekşi, and HAVELSAN General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay. As part of the agreement, HAVELSAN will manufacture Full-Flight Simulators with an international D-level certificate for the flag-carrier airline’s Boeing 737MAX and Airbus A320CEO/NEO aircraft.
Within the scope of the project which will reduce the foreign-source dependency and accelerate the concept of local manufacture, the Full-Flight Simulator with the EASA D-level certificate will provide a low-cost and life-like training for Turkish Airlines pilots in the fields of orientation, evolution, and reinstatement. Manufactured by HAVELSAN, Turkey’s defense and aviation industry company which brings its military experience in simulator design, manufacture, integration, and maintenance to civil aviation, the simulator will be featured in Turkish Airlines’ fleet.
Having stated that this project makes Turkey the fourth country in the world to manufacture simulator, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee M. İlker Aycı commented on the agreement by saying, “As Turkish Airlines and HAVELSAN, two important players of Turkish civil aviation, we are very excited to sign such an important collaboration today. With the responsibility of being our country’s national airline, we focus on local resources. It’s an honor to strengthen our support for local manufacture with this agreement.”
Turkish Airlines Deputy Chairman and CEO Bilal Ekşi commented on the agreement by saying, "The fact that HAVELSAN manufactured this simulator with local and national resources with EASA certificate is a valuable development for aviation technology and education in our country."
