Welcome on board!
As the airline that flies to more countries in the world than any other, we continue to bring what’s far closer with our flights to Krasnodar, Russia which will begin in May. As we expand our flight network day by day, we share with you our excitement to explore new places. After achieving double-digits in January and February, the number of our passengers in March increased by 24% this year and reached 6 million. Our occupancy rate in March reached 82%, the highest rate in the last five years. Thank you for flying with us.
A Great Honor for Our Aviation Academy
This year’s IATA Global Training Partners Conference was hosted by the Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy, one of the world’s leading training centers in civil aviation. Attended by over 200 representatives from 60 countries, Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy has received the title “IATA Premier Circle Member” for three consecutive years.
Turkish Airlines Celebrates Its 85th Anniversary
Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk founded Turkish Airlines, the nation’s flag carrier, on May 20, 1933, with the words, “The future is in the skies.” We took over this mission 85 years ago and work with immense effort and excitement to carry it higher. We will move to Istanbul New Airport on October 29, 2018 which will enable us to improve our service quality. Once completed, Istanbul New Airport will be the biggest of its kind in the world. I hereby celebrate Labor Day with all our employees who contribute to where we are today, and extend my wishes on World Cabin Crew Day to our flight crews who turn each flight into a peaceful journey and thank them for their diligence.
As we ceaselessly continue our activities shaped by the developments in the industry, we also improve our support for sports and culture with sponsorships all across the world. We invite you to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, to watch Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four, which was held in Istanbul last year. Moreover, we also suggest you add the rugby final in Bilbao and the cricket games in Ireland to your calendar.
We have many important days in May. First of all, I wish you all a joyous May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, when our war of independence began and the foundations for the Republic of Turkey were laid. Moreover, I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to our mothers who think of us in all moments of their lives and never withhold their love from us.
Enjoy your flight!
