Welcome on board!
We’re happy to accompany you on a new journey. As different seasons bring beauty to the 121 countries we fly to, our country greets the joy of spring. The month of February, during which you accepted our invitation and continued to explore the world with us, made it into our corporate history as the month with the highest occupancy rate. Without having to wait for summer, we invite you to explore the rare corners of the world with us again.
The Heart of the Silk Road
As the airline that flies to more countries than any other in the world, we continue to enrich our flight network with new lines and bring what’s far closer to you. We added Samarkand, on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and Aqaba, the exotic port city of Jordan, to our flight network last month so that you can personally witness many sites of historical value. Situated on the Silk Road, one of the prominent global trade routes for centuries, Samarkand became our second destination in Uzbekistan after Tashkent. The apple of the Eastern world’s eye with its historical figures, scholars, elegant architecture and many other charms, this ancient city is now much closer to you thanks to Turkish Airlines.
Our Preparations for Our New Home Proceed
Istanbul, the westernmost stop of the historical Silk Road, continues to be the meeting place of civilizations as it has been throughout history and to bring worlds together. Istanbul New Airport will make this unique city and our flight network hub into one of the busiest destinations of the global air transport industry. As its completion processes continue, we as Turkish Airlines prepare ourselves for our new home. Accordingly, we are also expanding our fleet in parallel with our increasing number of flight destinations and frequencies. We closed the deal on 60 aircrafts – 30 Airbus 350-900s and 30 Boeing 787-9s, five of each being optional. Thus, we took an important step towards meeting our wide-body aircraft needs, which will continue to gradually increase at Istanbul New Airport.
We believe that our operations, which overlap with the macro-scale investments of Turkey as a developing country, create a precious added value to the development of Turkish civil aviation, and continue our stable growth as our country’s flag-carrier airline.
I’d like to celebrate April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, presented as a gift by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to the children of the world on the opening anniversary of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and wish a Happy World Pilots’ Day to our pilots. Have a pleasant flight!
