KONYA TROPICAL BUTTERFLY GARDEN AND BUTTERFLY VALLEY IS THE FIRST BUTTERFLY SANCTUARY IN TURKEY, AND THE LARGEST IN EUROPE.

Mesmerizing with their "painted" wings, butterflies have landed in Konya. Run by Selçuklu Municipality, the Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden, and Konya’s biggest park, Butterfly Valley, together provide a fantastic new attraction for visitors to the city. Opened with a ceremony in Selçuklu attended by Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, the Tropical Butterfly Garden and Butterfly Valley is divided into areas such as the underground species tunnel and the reptile area. At the Konya Butterfly Valley, visitors can see the life-cycle of butterflies at the Butterfly Manufacture Area, and wander among flying butterflies at the Open Flight Area. The areas where the tropical flora necessary for the survival of the butterflies are grown is another alternative for a beautiful sight.

Home to more than 10,000 butterfly species brought from the Far East, South East Asia and many other regions, the Tropical Butterfly Garden provides suitable climate conditions for myriad species of  butterflies. At the Butterfly Valley, which is an attractive visiting spots for kids, you can both observe the complete butterfly life cycle, and wander among flying butterflies.

In addition to being the first butterfly field in Turkey, the Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden and Butterfly Valley is also the biggest one in Europe.
