THE ISTANBUL CLASSICAL ARTS CENTER IS HOSTING 7 EXHIBITIONS AND 7 SEMINARS ON THE TRADITIONAL ARTS OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR.
One seminar and one exhibition are being held each month as part of the program, which is titled The Classical Arts in Istanbul. The subject of the fourth seminar, which is taking place this month, is Illumination in the 16th Century. The seminar, which includes a presentation by Prof. Dr. Ayşe Üstün in a session hosted by Prof. Dr. F. Çiçek Derman, will be held on February 23 at the Istanbul Classical Arts Center. A joint exhibition consisting of 50 different panels each month is on through the end of May.
Located in the Libadiye district of Küçükçamlıca, Istanbul Classical Arts Center offers graduate level instruction in the arts of calligraphy, illumination, paper marbling, miniature painting, paper cutting, bookbinding, ceramic tiles, engraving, wood lacquering and inlay, scroll saw woodworking, tongue and groove jointing, and scientific botanical drawing. It also houses a collection of upwards of 600 works by various artists.
