INDIA IS THE GUEST COUNTRY OF THE 24TH INTERNATIONAL EUROPALIA ART FESTIVAL IN BRUSSELS.
Staged at the Centre for Fine Arts from October 4, 2013, to January 26, 2014, Europalia is hosting two major exhibitions as well as countless music, theater, literature and film events. One of the two exhibitions, The Body in Indian Art, curated by Naman Ahuja, offers a broad perspective for understanding the forces that have shaped Indian art. Set up in an 1,800-square-meter space, the exhibition brings together works culled mainly from museums in India. Indomania: From Rembrandt to The Beatles, which features upwards of 200 objects, is the festival’s other major exhibition. Curated by Deepak Anath, it traces Indian cultural influences on the West.
The Body in Indian Art can be visited from October 5 to January 5, and Indomania from 16 October to January 26.
