THE THIRD LEG OF THE PGA EUROPEAN TOUR’S FINAL SERIES, THE TURKISH AIRLINES OPEN IS TAKING PLACE IN TURKEY FOR THE FIRST TIME, NOVEMBER 7 TO 10.
One of the final tournaments of the PGA European Tour, which has mounted 46 tournaments in 25 countries over an 11-month span, is taking place at The Montgomerie Maxx Royal in Antalya Belek.
Seventy-eight golfers from around the world are playing in the tournament, which will distribute a total of 7 million dollars in prize money. The highest paid athlete at the top of the world rankings, Tiger Woods stands out as the tournament’s biggest name. This is the second visit to Turkey - again for a golf tournament - for Woods, who also played in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final last year.
ONE SUCCESS LEADS TO ANOTHER
The successful organization last year, with Turkish Airlines sponsorship, of the World Golf Final cleared the way to the realization of the Turkish Airlines Open in Turkey this year.
BELEK: GOLF’S NEW HEADQUARTERS
Turkey’s new golf destination, Belek is an attractive resort just three hours from many European cities, with deep blue waters, extensive pine forests and fresh, cool air blowing down from the Taurus Mountains in the distance. Thanks to its temperate climate and clear skies and average six hours of sunshine a day even in winter, Belek is perfect for playing golf. An increasing number of golf courses, luxury accommodations and other investments are proof enough that Belek is an ideal choice for golfers.
