THE ENGLISH FUNK GROUP JAMIROQUAI IS IN ISTANBUL. BE READY TO DOFF YOUR HATS!
Coming to Turkey as part of the Burn to Dance Festival, Jamiroquai will be at Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena the evening of September 5 with songs like Virtual Insanity, Cosmic Girl, Deeper Underground, When You Gonna Learn, Space Cowboy and Dynamite. Back in Turkey for the first time in 8 years, the band’s lead singer, Jason Kay, will have his hats - at least as famous as the man himself - with him.
Despite a frequent turnover in its members, Jamiroquai is holding steady on with front man Jason Kay. Produced in 1992, the band’s first single, When You Gonna Learn, was followed immediately by Emergency on Planet Earth, which propelled it to fame as far away as Japan. The band’s album Dynamite, recorded at its Buckinghamshire Studios as well as in Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Scotland, New York and Los Angeles, came out in 2005. Rock Dust Light Star, released in 2010, is Jamiroquai’s latest album.
Warming up the Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena stage before the Jamiroquai concert will be Multitap, who have added a new dimension to the alternative music scene with their album Takım Oyunu. Formed in 2006 by four musician friends, Multitap distinguishes itself from its counterparts by deliberately not going for hits in its repertoire.
