A partnership involving Turkish Airlines, Turkish Technic, Inc. and Assan Hanil, Turkish Seats Industries recently chalked up another first in Turkish civil aviation history. The project, the seeds of which were sown at a factory set up in Izmit in September 2011, has already started bearing fruit. All phases of concept development and design, including the automation and software for the airplane seats, was realized in Turkey. Oriented towards customer satisfaction with their ergonomic features and the comfortable travel environment they offer passengers, the seats will find a place first on the Boeing 739-800 and immediately afterwards on the Airbus A319-320 and 321-type aircraft whose seats are ending their economic life.
Speaking at a promotional meeting for the TSI-designed airplane seats hosted by Turkish Airlines at Ataturk Airport, the airline’s Chairman of the Board and of the Executive Committee, Hamdi Topçu, said, “TSI’s basic vision is to offer the best solutions in the areas of comfort, aesthetics, security and logistics in the airplane passenger seat sector,” thereby laying emphasis on TSI’s vision.
